Position Type: Full time; Exempt DTO Law (dtolaw.com) is a sophisticated boutique law firm with offices in Los Angeles, the SF Bay Area and New York with a diverse transactional practice focusing on commercial real estate, real estate finance, complex commercial lending transactions, workouts, insolvency and technology transactions. DTO Law is seeking an Attorney to join our transactional real estate and finance practice group. The Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys to provide legal support and guidance on a variety of real estate and finance transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, real estate and Article 9 financings, title and survey, loan workout, syndicated/participated loans and commercial leasing matters. The successful candidate will have a passion for transactional real estate and finance and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to Draft and review legal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, intercreditor agreements, real estate secured loan documents, closing checklists, escrow instructions and closing documents. Conduct due diligence and title review for real estate and real estate finance transactions. Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions to clients and colleagues, as needed. Attend and participate in meetings with clients and other parties. Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients. Billing requirement: 1,750 hours per year. Qualifications JD from a top-tier law school. Active membership in the state bar association. 3-5 years of experience in transactional real estate and finance law in a law firm setting. Strong research, analytical, and writing skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as Westlaw. Salary and Benefits We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and offer an excellent salary and benefits package. Lockstep salary range based on class year is $190,0000 – $227,500 for 1,750 hours (associates who bill 1,825 or 1,900 receive additional guaranteed compensation). Benefits start the first day of the month following start date, including 401K enrollment.
