THE OPPORTUNITY: As a Real Estate Paralegal working in the Due Diligence HUB, you will assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including title, survey and zoning review, leasing review, due diligence coordination and management, as well as closing and post-closing activities for real estate matters. You will work with our Real Estate teams across the country, reporting to the attorneys on your team and working collaboratively with various groups of attorneys, paralegals and staff. THE DAY-TO-DAY: On any given day, you will: Be involved in various types of transactions (such as sales, acquisitions, development and financing on both single-property and multi-property deals), and manage teams of attorneys, paralegals and staff on larger projects Order and review title commitments, exception documents and surveys, interfacing directly with title companies, surveyors and supervising attorney(s) to resolve any issues or discrepancies Prepare and administer contract critical dates and closing checklists Track and assist supervising attorney(s) with review of due diligence Participate in conference calls with clients, developers, landlords and other third parties Coordinate and assist with all aspects of closings, including preparation of conveyance documents, closing statements, and other closing documents Attend to post-closing requirements and monitor post-closing deliveries Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memoranda Prepare various documentation, including amendments to agreements and leases, estoppel certificates, SNDAs and Memos of Lease for attorney review Review organizational and authority documents YOU HAVE: 5+ years of experience reviewing title reports, surveys and zoning reports on a wide range of transaction types, including multi-property transactions, and handling title clearance issues. Experience reviewing and abstracting leases is a plus A Bachelor’s degree preferred or paralegal certificate Exposure to large portfolio transactions preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office products Strong analytical, writing, organizational and communication skills Extensive knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and legal terminology WHAT WE PROVIDE: Seyfarth provides competitive salary and benefits at all levels, and our culture embraces the entrepreneurial spirit of its professionals like no other firm.
