Transactional Associate Position Type: Full time; Exempt Location: Los Angeles (Downtown) DTO Law (dtolaw.com) is a sophisticated boutique law firm with offices in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and New York with a diverse transactional practice focusing on commercial real estate, real estate finance, complex commercial lending transactions, workouts, insolvency and technology transactions. DTO Law is seeking a highly motivated and skilled transactional associate with experience in real estate and finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent analytical and communication skills and a proven track record of success in transactional law. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to Draft and review a variety of real estate and finance-related documents, including purchase and sale agreements, review of syndicated/participated loan documents, intercreditor agreements, real estate and Article 9 secured loan documents, commercial leases, easements and closing documents. Conduct due diligence on real estate and finance transactions, including title and survey review, environmental assessments, and zoning and land use analysis. Collaborate closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to assist with complex transactions from start to finish. Communicate effectively with clients and other parties to transactions to ensure smooth and efficient completion of deals. Stay current on legal developments and industry trends in real estate and finance to provide expert advice and counsel to clients. Billing requirement: 1,750 hours per year. Qualifications JD from an accredited law school and active membership in the state bar. 5-10+ years of transactional experience in real estate and finance, preferably with law firm training (in-house legal department experience a plus). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with drafting and negotiating complex real estate and finance-related documents. Experience in zoning, and land use regulations a plus. Salary and Benefits We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package. We have a lock-step compensation structure based on class year. Salary range is $177,500 - $272,000+ for a junior to mid-level associate. Benefits start the first day of the month following start date, including 401K participation.
