Description
King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, is currently seeking a paralegal to join our Trial and Global Disputes practice group, specifically the Intellectual Property team, in Washington, DC. The department offers the opportunity for a paralegal to join an innovative and collaborate team focused on supporting matters for high-level clients. The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and report to the Paralegal Manager. Candidates will have the following responsibilities: Manage all facets of a case from inception through trial, including, but not limited to: large document collections and productions; organize same into databases and oversee/participate in review of materials e-filings; downloading pleadings for client file coordination with docketing department to ensure all deadlines are docketed preparation for, attendance at, and digestion of depositions the search for and organization of prior art legal research including from the PTO district courts and Federal Circuit cite-checking Apply knowledge of the filings processes for the district courts and PTO in PTAB proceedings Interact with clients, consultants, vendors, USPTO and other government agencies, including the ITC (337 cases) Successful candidates are detail oriented, efficient, and have the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, high volume environment. Candidates must possess the ability to work on multiple cases simultaneously and multitask with ease. Candidates should have strong litigation database experience and familiarity working with Litigation Support to create and set up databases. Candidates should have advanced practical skills in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree with a 3.5 GPA preferred; 3-5 years of intellectual property experience including experience with the Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB) and IPR cases required.
