# **Supervisory Attorney-Advisor (Assistant General Counsel for Litigation)** Division/Office: Legal Closing date: Nov. 7, 2022 Location: Washington, DC Grade: 71 Salary: $138,502–240,000 Who may apply: Open to All US Citizens (Excepted service – Permanent) #### **Summary** This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Legal Division, Office of Litigation. As the Assistant General Counsel for the Office of Litigation, primary duties involve providing litigation-related legal advice to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, as well as other division heads and the Bureau director. #### **Responsibilities** As an Assistant General Counsel for Litigation, you will: * Serve as legal advisor to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and other senior officials on legal issues within the litigation and oversight portfolio. * Manage the analysis of legal representation for the CFPB in all phases of litigation in administrative, trial, and appellate fora. Formulates conclusions and recommendations and presents findings to senior CFPB management. * Speak authoritatively on legal matters within areas of responsibility and represents CFPB at meetings and conferences. Provide briefings, draft speeches, and draft testimony for senior CFPB staff regarding legal issues within areas of responsibility. * Collaborate with other offices to ensure that the legal programs align to a unique CFPB mission while concurrently ensuring legal operations that are fully aligned to emerging policy, processes, and regulatory interpretations of consumer financial protection programs. The areas of responsibility for this position include developing, implementing, and managing systems that provide the necessary resources for conducting the office's mission. * Translating program objectives into organizational structures, budgets, and staffing requirements for current and out years. Defend resource requirements to CFPB staff advisors, identifying and providing metrics for measuring the effectiveness of program execution. **Travel Required** * Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. **Promotion Potential** * 71 **Supervisory Status** * Yes
