Attorney – Casualty Practice – Atlanta Candidate must possess a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and be admitted to the practice of law in Georgia. Position Description As a member of Chubb’s House Counsel office in Alpharetta, GA, this attorney will be responsible for defending casualty litigation before state and Federal Courts filed against Chubb’s insureds. The individual must be able to successfully litigate cases involving the following claims and issues: premises liability, construction accident liability, motor vehicle liability, product liability, contractual indemnity, and medical damages. Specific duties will include: trials, conducting and defending depositions and engaging in other pre-trial discovery, drafting pleadings, engaging in motion practice, researching, briefing and arguing appellate matters, negotiating settlements, generating reports and evaluations on assigned cases. Job Requirements Admission to State Bar of Georgia, Georgia trial and appellate courts and the U.S. District Courts in Georgia. Must have 5 to 10 years of experience litigating a broad range of casualty insurance defense matters in state and Federal courts. Must have strong knowledge of current state and Federal procedural and substantive law. Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written advocacy skills and negotiation tactics. Must have an ability to apply analytical skills in addressing complex legal issues. Must be able and willing to proactively communicate with clients, claims staff and other members of House Counsel.
