Job Description: Cooley’s Cyber/Data/Privacy (c/d/p) practice group is seeking a midlevel associate who focuses on litigation and/or regulatory enforcement investigations involving privacy and data security matters to join the team in our New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington, DC offices. Cooley’s diverse c/d/p group has over 30 full-time attorneys in the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. The firm continues to expand its award-winning c/d/p litigation and investigations practice. Ideal applicants will have 4-6 years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues (State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies), and/or be well-versed in defending data privacy and security class actions (e.g., Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, claims involving allegedly unfair and deceptive trade practices, and data breach class actions). Successful candidates will have a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school, the ability to engage directly with clients and lead significant projects, general tech fluency, and impeccable analytical and writing skills. The expected annual pay range for this position is $310,000 - $390,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
