The role We are looking for an experienced/intermediate Practice Assistant to join our Commercial Litigation team in Sydney. This role is part-time, 3 days per week. As a valued member of the team, you will work closely with 1 Partner and their team of lawyers who work in jurisdictions including the Supreme Court and Federal Court of Australia. You will also be expected to support a highly collaborative wider team with any ad hoc requests. This role will be responsible for providing extensive legal support with a key focus on court filing, client reporting, document collation and client billing. The successful candidate will be resilient, technically capable and collaborative. Experience in a similar role with extensive litigation experience and well-developed time management skills with the ability to cope under the pressure of deadlines and multitasking will be advantageous. The key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows: Responsibilities Diary management, email management and filing of correspondence. Time entry. Organising client functions and team events. Coordinating of client billing and expense coordination process, management of trust receipts. Physical and e-Filing of court documents such as subpoenas, pleadings and coordination of court correspondence. Collation and management of court documents such as briefs and court bundles. File management including opening and closing files, electronic and physical filing and scanning and archiving. Generation of routine client reports and correspondence on a regular basis. Client relationship management including working closely with barristers and contributing to the overall coordination of legal matters. Business development and client related activities, assisting with pitch preparation and presentations. Organising travel and accommodation arrangements. Processing monthly expense claims. Ad-hoc support tasks as required by the team. Requirements Prior experience in a similar position in a law firm or professional services environment highly regarded. Excellent communication skills. Experience in report preparation. Prior experience and exposure to e-filing court documents would be advantageous. Good attention to detail with paired ability to work autonomously and draft correspondence and documents. Previous experience in monthly billing using relevant financial software. Tech savvy with a good understanding of Microsoft Office. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
