Associate, Employment - Riyadh Associate/Attorney Employment & Pensions Riyadh The Team Clyde & Co is one of very few firms in the region that has a dedicated team of specialist employment and incentives lawyers advising on the varied issues facing businesses on a day to day basis. The team has native Arabic speakers and provides specialist advice within the ambit of a large full service international law firm. The firm’s specialist lawyers provide advice across all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law, with a focus on providing focused commercially orientated advice and practical solutions. The firm advises clients across the Middle East and Africa in various sectors including construction, technology, hospitality, retail and insurance, on compliance with employment and sponsorship regulations. It acts for multinational clients, large family owned businesses as well as Government owned and Government decreed entities. In the region it advises on free zone regulations in various countries and including the financial centre free zones in the UAE; these being the ADGM and DIFC and the QFC in Qatar. In KSA we have advised many leading Government owned entities which are at the heart of implementing Vision 2030, as well as regional conglomerates many of which are listed on the Saudi stock exchange. We provide advice on KSA regulations within the context of taking an international best practice approach Equally, advice is provided on applicable quotas and regulations for the employment of nationals, and employee arrangements, including international secondments or assignments. Clyde & Co advises local and foreign owned companies on the implementation and structure of executive and all-employee incentive arrangements as well as related employment, regulatory and corporate governance matters. The Role The ideal candidate will have an extensive employment background, gained within a large-scale international or regional top tier firm. Key Responsibilities Advising clients on compliance with local laws and regulations. Instructing and liaising with correspondent law firms across the region; Providing advice and support to clients on a full range of employment issues, including recruitment and sponsorship procedures, remuneration and benefits packages, grievance and disciplinary procedures and issues arising on the termination of employment. Supporting the corporate department with employment issues arising out of transactions, such as undertaking employment due diligence, drafting warranties and indemnities in agreements and the transfer of employees; Drafting and amending employment contracts, employee handbooks, policies and procedures and other employment related documentation; Interacting directly with local and international clients from a wide range of sectors; Advising clients on employment disputes and drafting settlement agreements Representing clients at both the labour office and before the Labour Courts across the Kingdom; Liaising with Government authorities on behalf of clients, Advising clients on immigration matters; Contributing to the employment practice’s know how and precedents system; and Supporting a wide range of employee relations advice on a variety of issues. Candidate Requirements 3 PQE Training gained with a well-regarded law firm Have attained degree certificate(s) from reputed institution, achieving a minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent; Essential Skills & Experience: Have a mature and flexible personality and will be able to build and work with teams; Be self-motivated and possess a very pro-active attitude towards completing jobs and developing business.
