Cadence is looking for an experienced IP attorney to join our Legal team. This attorney will have a high degree of responsibility in patent litigation, IP enforcement, overseeing our ecosystem relationships, and other IP matters as needed.

Responsibilities:
</div>
<ul>
<li> Develop and execute IP strategies for Cadence and its business units.</li>
<li> Collaborate with and coordinate closely with other members of the Legal, R&D, Marketing, and Sales teams, and manage outside counsel, to drive desired outcomes.</li>
<li> Advise on IP disputes, litigation, and IPRs.</li>
<li> Perform infringement and validity analyses, risk evaluation, and due diligence activities.</li>
<li> Manage IP portfolios as assigned.</li>
<li> Identify opportunities to strengthen Cadence’s IP portfolios.</li>
<li> Partner with our ecosystem team to draft and negotiate licenses with, and manage our obligations to, ecosystem partners.</li>
<li> Serve as a legal business partner to a Cadence business unit.</li>
<li> Handle other IP matters as needed.</li>

Qualifications:
</div>
<ul>
<li> 4+ years of relevant experience, including patent litigation at a large law firm.</li>
<li> Current bar membership in at least one U.S. state and qualified to practice in-house in California.</li>
<li> J.D. from a nationally recognized law school.</li>
<li> Business acumen and focus on execution with excellence.</li>
<li> Strong strategic, communication and organizational skills.</li>
<li> High degree of integrity and ability to instill trust.</li>
<li> Experience drafting and prosecuting patents a plus.</li>
