In addition to highly competitive salaries, we offer a bonus program, 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase program; comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits, including a robust wellness program; paid time off for vacation, holidays and sick days; and much more.<br> <br> <b>Expected salary range</b> of $180,000 to $200,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).<br> <br> <b>PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION</b></p> <p> A seasoned commercial lawyer who is a highly qualified attorney handling complex legal matters and projects on behalf of the Constellation business unit. Among other responsibilities, this lawyer will be expected to handle a significant volume of complex gas and power transactions for Constellation.</p> <p><b> PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES</b></p> <ul> <li>Under minimal supervision, plans, conducts and supervises complex legal transactional projects requiring an ability to evaluate matters that are material to Constellation’s business; evaluates legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly</li> <li>Prepares, and revises as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel</li> <li>Prepares, and revises as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for matters involving outside counsel</li> <li>Provides lead direction and/or project leadership direction to less experienced attorneys and support staff</li> <li>Projects / duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><b> JOB SCOPE</b></p> <ul> <li>Supports more senior attorneys in the ongoing management of relationships and matters with Constellation business units and outside counsel</li> <li>Demonstrates superior legal judgment in the business context</li> <li>Demonstrates innovation; generates new ideas and devises original and successful solutions, programs or actions</li> </ul> <p><b> Qualifications</b> </p> <p><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</b></p> <ul> <li>An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions</li> <li>At least 5-8 years of professional experience in energy transactional work</li> <li>Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments</li> <li>Ability to handle high volume of complex assignments</li> <li>Must have the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to read and analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines</li> </ul> <p><b> PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</b></p> <ul> <li>At least 3-5 years handling commodity transactional work, preferably with gas experience</li> <li>Experience working with business to properly structure complex commodity transactions, gas or power.</li> <li>Experience with physical and financial major trading documentation, such as ISDA, NAESB and the EEI.</li> <li>Experience with other basic transactional documentation such as non-disclosure agreements, secured transaction documentation and credit support instruments.</li> </ul> <p><b> EEO</b></p> <p> At Constellation, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
