Our team looks for data-driven and fact-based mindsets, engaging and collaborative behaviors, and personal growth-focused professionals.</p> <p> In order for the global energy system to make the transition from a carbon-based grid, to a renewable energy grid, large scale energy storage must be introduced into the electricity system to balance intra-hour supply and demand. Energy storage is the enabler of high penetration variable renewable generation like solar and wind.</p> <p> We are looking for Counsel, specializing in Finance, to join the Legal team. This qualified individual would work under the guidance of the Deputy General Counsel for Finance to provide legal counsel and guidance to the Finance team and Plus Power more broadly. In this role, you will be focused on project finance (construction, bridge and term financing), tax equity, and corporate finance and will have opportunities to support and collaborate with teams across Plus Power's functional groups, including Development, EPC and Origination.</p> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Key Responsibilities</b></p> <ul> <li>Support the Finance team on construction, bridge and term debt financing; tax equity financing; and corporate financing.</li> <li>Serve as the Legal team lead advising the Finance team on mechanical completion and substantial completion tax equity fundings and debt term conversion.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with obligations under financing documents.</li> <li>Draft intercompany services agreements and corporate documents.</li> <li>Provide guidance to the Origination and EPC teams on financeability of project documents.</li> <li>As needed, oversee external counsel and assist the Deputy General Counsel for Finance in selecting and engaging external counsel.</li> </ul> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Skills &amp; Qualifications</b></p> <ul> <li>J.D. required.</li> <li>3 - 4 years of experience within a top-tier law firm. In-house experience supporting utility scale renewable energy-related financing is a plus.</li> <li>Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on sophisticated renewable energy financing transactions, including transactions involving tax equity.</li> <li>Knowledge of full project life cycle, key deliverables, commercial issues, project risks and opportunities, the diligence process, and material project documents and their impact on financings</li> <li>Experience leading Sponsors through financial closings.</li> <li>Ability to work under minimal supervision.</li> <li>Experience with M&amp;A, corporate credit facilities, development credit facilities, equipment supply financing, minority equity sales, power hedge products and mezzanine financing a plus.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members.</li> <li>Strong presentation and writing skills.</li> <li>Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Power Point</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>English fluency is required.</li> </ul> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Compensation, Location, and Benefits</b></p> <p> Highly-competitive remuneration from one of the nation's most exciting leaders in the energy storage markets. Flexible, work from home locations acceptable for the long-term, or hybrid work from Plus Power's offices in San Francisco or Houston.</p> <p> The expected salary range* for this position begins at $185,000. Factors that may be used to determine the final compensation include relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law.
