Our Knowledge Lawyers are key to how we serve our clients, which is why we are keen to recruit a Knowledge Lawyer with expertise in Real Estate who can continuously help to improve the quality of our templates, technical knowledge, and training. You’ll be responsible for: Disseminate knowledge within the Department and answer technical legal queries in relation to the law and practice applicable to the Real Estate Sector raising concerns around /managing risk as appropriate. Provide training internally to Core RE lawyers (from apprentices up), including trainee inductions. Input into and provide support for the RE training Academy. Supervise the extraction and collation of know-how within the group on a systematic basis. Create, maintain and amend RE knowledge content (including KITS) on our intranet and other knowledge databases. Assist with preparing the Core RE’s fortnightly current awareness bulletin and other internal publications. Work with partners, associates and the RE BD team on pitches, campaigns and blogs as requested. Oversee the allocation and approval of lawyers’ knowledge projects. Participate as needed in firm initiatives to improve quality and consistency of work product across the firm, including promoting consistent use of visualisation. Participate in initiatives to map processes and introduce efficiencies into the delivery of RE legal work product, including liaising with our Streamline team and Legal Project Managers. Share information, support and collaborate with the other KLs in the RE Sector particularly our RE disputes, planning and construction KLs. Develop a deep knowledge of some of our key sub-sectors to be able to offer market insight and knowledge content as appropriate. This may also involve membership of external bodies such as the IPF and participation in our internal Centres of Excellence. Establish relationships with all fee earners across Core RE including through visits to all three UK offices and delivering inductions for new joiners. Work with our central KM team on the rollout of new/ promotion of existing systems such as Discover and Closing Binders. Build a good knowledge of the third party providers and portals that are key to our practice including DocuSign, HighQ, Land Registry (you will liaise with our post completion team on practical points), Landscape, Kira, Contract Express, Orbital Witness & Search Acumen. You will be expected to promote the use of these systems as appropriate. Essential experience: At least 4 years’ experience as a transactional RE associate in the UK market. Strong technical knowledge of UK RE law and practice. Involvement with knowledge projects either as a fee earner or as a KDL eg precedent production, training or systems. Desirable experience The confidence to present to all levels of fee earners and business support colleagues at training/know how sessions and team meetings An aptitude for IT and interest in big data/artificial intelligence technology, and the increasing use of technology within the profession. A mature, professional outlook with resilience to handle change in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving working environment
