Troutman Pepper’s Regulatory Investigations, Strategy + Enforcement (RISE) practice group is seeking an associate in any of the offices in which it has a presence - Washington, D.C., New York, Richmond, Atlanta, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Orange County, Boston, or Chicago. Ideal candidates will have 3 to 6 years of litigation experience. The position will focus on state and federal regulatory litigation, including spinoff consumer class litigation, and administrative litigation. Matters may range from litigation with federal regulatory agencies to litigation against state Attorneys General to Administrative Procedure Act challenges. Candidates must have excellent academic and professional credentials, superior research and writing ability, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the bar of the state in which they will practice, or the ability to waive into that bar. While not required, clerkship experience is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of practice in the federal courts across the country is a must. Troutman Pepper’s RISE practice group is a multi-disciplinary team of almost 50 attorneys with decades of experience crafting effective strategies to help deter or mitigate the risk of enforcement actions and litigation. Our team prepares compliance risk assessments and designs compliance programs that best position clients to limit enforcement risks; conducts internal investigations into allegations of misconduct; and counsels and defends companies and executives ensnared in government investigations and related litigation. From alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis to financial services, consumer products, gaming, cybersecurity, and consumer privacy, we advise and defend clients on the full range of federal and state regulatory enforcement, compliance, and litigation actions.
