San Francisco Energy & Climate Solutions Associate

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati

Wilson Sonsini’s Energy & Climate Solutions (ECS) team addresses climate change through deal-making creativity, independent thought, and applying our broad transactional and financing skill set. Our focused, innovative clean energy project development and finance practice is pro-competition in favor of disruptive technologies and new business models; by choice, we avoid mandates for vertically-integrated utilities and fossil fuel project developers that do not want to help lead the energy transition. If you share that mission and want to dedicate your project financing legal skills to ground-breaking financing transactions for our innovative clean energy and decarbonization clients, consider our opening in the San Francisco office for a project finance associate with 3-6 years of substantial transactional experience with a focus on project finance and/or structured asset-based finance and non-recourse lending transactions. The ideal candidate will have major law firm experience representing sponsors, developers, borrowers, lenders, or investors, with experience in secured lending, tax equity and other LLC financings and joint ventures. Experience in clean energy and climate infrastructure finance is preferred, but experience in adjacent project financing areas will suffice if the candidate has a strong interest in developing a broad expertise in financing clean energy projects and portfolios. The mission matters to us. Associates will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers who will provide active mentoring. You will be part of a collaborative team of attorneys in SF and nationally focused on clean energy and climate solutions sectors throughout the United States. You will soon be given the opportunity to assume a high level of responsibility and client contact with companies ranging from start-ups to the world’s leading international infrastructure investors. You will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of project finance and development experience working with some of the industry’s leading and most innovative companies. Strong drafting and negotiating skills, as well as superior academic credentials, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, are required.
