PARALEGAL POSITION AT NONPROFIT-FOCUSED LAW FIRM IN SAN FRANCISCO Adler & Colvin, a highly regarded San Francisco-based law firm specializing in nonprofit entities and their donors, is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our dynamic team. Our firm, comprising twenty-three attorneys, is dedicated to supporting organizations that strive for social justice, civil rights, environmental responsibility, education, health, and more, both locally and globally. We pride ourselves on providing expert advice on the unique tax and corporate laws governing the nonprofit sector, addressing areas such as nonprofit corporate structures, legal compliance, social enterprise, lobbying, political advocacy, and international philanthropy. As a paralegal at Adler & Colvin, you will engage in diverse, complex, and challenging work, collaborating with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from small grassroots advocacy groups to large philanthropies. Basic qualifications for this position will include: Three or more years of paralegal experience with a focus on corporate, transactional, or related work (Corporate/Transaction Experience Required) Compliance with educational and experiential requirements outlined in California Business and Professions Code Section 6450 et seq. Strong verbal and written communication skills High accuracy and attention to detail Analytical and issue-spotting abilities Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management software Competence in online legal research platforms, preferably Westlaw and Checkpoint Familiarity with researching federal, state, and regulatory agency codes, regulations, and guidelines Project management skills in both large and small projects within a deadline-driven environment Ability to approach challenges with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation in a collaborative team setting Desirable qualifications: Direct experience in nonprofit administration, including governance, regulatory compliance, and corporate record-keeping Proficiency in preparing complex forms and identifying corresponding supporting materials Strong financial skills, including the ability to extract or extrapolate information from budgets, financial statements, and tax returns California notary public certification Salary Range: $92,398 to $125,009 Hybrid Work Schedule: For the first 3 months paralegals will be onsite full-time (while training). After 3 months, our weekly Firm day is Wednesday (when everyone living in the SF Bay Area must come in). Additional days are based on business needs. Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation accrual; designated holidays, paid floating holiday, and sick leave. Health Plan: Choice of six health plans (two Kaiser and four Blue Shield) along with dental and vision insurance. Adler & Colvin generously contributes toward the employee cost of group medical coverage. Dental & Vision Plans: Adler & Colvin pays 100% of dental and vision premiums. Basic Life/AD&D and Long-Term Disability Insurance: Adler & Colvin pays 100% of the premiums. Retirement: 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan. Under the Safe Harbor provisions of the Plan, the firm contributes 5% of total gross compensation up to the allowable maximum for the 401(k) part of the plan.
