**Senior Counsel – Government Healthcare Programs**
Albertsons Companies is seeking a Government Healthcare Programs Senior
Counsel to provide specialized legal counsel regarding health and pharmacy
related matters. The Senior Counsel will be a member of the Albertsons
Companies Pharmacy & Health Law Team, and will support a variety of complex
pharmacy and health programs issues to further Albertsons’ strategic
initiatives. The position will report to the Group Vice President of the
Pharmacy and Health Law Team, and will serve as counsel to the Pharmacy and
Health Business Segment on federal and state government health and pharmacy
program requirements. The Senior Counsel for Government Healthcare Programs
will also collaborate with Albertsons’ Ethics and Compliance organization and
others within the company on Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA), Stark, Anti-
Kickback Statute (AKS) and other compliance matters and processes. This role
will be based near one of our divisional offices: Seattle, WA, Portland, OR,
Pleasanton, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Boise, ID, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Denver,
CO, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, or Boston, MA.
**Main responsibilities:**
* Coordinate efforts with internal clients as well as other internal and external attorneys to provide legal advice regarding complex issues on a broad range of pharmacy and health topics.
* Advise the Pharmacy and Health Business Segment on strategic partnerships, federal and state healthcare programs, value-based care, marketing, digital health and vendor relationships.
* Provide FWA, False Claims Act, Stark, AKS and other relevant federal and state law counseling.
* Coordinate with Corporate and Pharmacy and Health Business Compliance on innovative compliance solutions.
* Collaborate with legal and business teams.
**What we are searching for:**
* Law degree from an accredited law school.
* Active membership in good standing with the Bar of any state that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel.
* At least 10 years legal experience in health care law; experience supporting payors, pharmacies and clinical healthcare services preferred.
* Experience with developing and managing compliance processes at a large public company a plus.
* Perform factual and legal research, analysis, guidance, and legal correspondence.
* Ability to identify and analyze complex health care regulatory issues and evaluate their broader implications for the business; interact with clients on all levels; provide timely, practical, legal advice and solutions; and communicate effectively in person and in writing.
* Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and take ownership of issues and matters to their successful conclusion.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to inspire trust and confidence with stakeholders at high levels.
