**The Role:**
We are seeking a **Tax Counsel** to be based in the company's New York
headquarters. The successful candidate will be a critical player in
negotiating key contracts from a tax perspective as well as the creative and
tax-efficient structuring of multi-jurisdictional business transactions that
drive the company's business model and growth strategies. Moreover, he/she
will interact frequently with the company's business leaders, and numerous
external constituencies to help communicate and advance the company's tax-
related initiatives. Given our extensive business in Latin America Spanish-
language fluency is a significant plus.

infrastructure with people and processes grounded in a strong culture will be
the backbone of our success. The position is a key part of driving the

**What You Will Do:**
* Reviewing global transactions conducted by NFE to minimize tax-risk and maximize tax benefits.
* Providing guidance to NFE on internal tax matters.
* Interacting on a daily basis with NFE's legal team and business leaders.
* Assisting global tax planning for NFE.
* Coordinating outside counsel.
**What You Bring:**
* Bachelor's degree and J.D. from top-tier educational institutions.
* Minimum 4 to 8 years of post-J.D. experience.
* Spanish language fluency preferred.
* Experience in oil and gas taxation and international tax preferred.
* Experience in taxation of outbound investment transactions in multiple jurisdictions
* Initiative and drive.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – ability to communicate clearly and precisely, and to command the respect of business colleagues.
* Ability to think quickly and creatively and desire to learn new areas of the tax law and business.
* Quantitative skills.
* Flexibility – the ability to deal with rapid growth in constantly changing internal and external environments.
