We do so through creative problem solving, excellence and transparency in execution, while exhibiting good judgment in providing ethical and empathetic partnership across the business.</p> <p> Samsara is looking to hire an Associate Commercial Counsel to join our growing Legal team! You will be responsible for negotiating and drafting contracts with Samsara customers, business partners, and vendors and using your strong legal and interpersonal skills to ensure contracts are aligned with business objectives and needs. You will also focus on managing, building, and implementing contract management tools and workflows across multiple internal teams and stakeholders.</p> <p> Our most successful team members excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can drive projects of varying complexity in collaboration with multiple teams. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.</li> </ul> <p>Click here to learn about what we value at Samsara.</p> <p><b> In this role, you will:</b></p> <ul> <li>Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts with Samsara customers, business partners, and vendors, including software license agreements, RFP responses, reseller and other business partner agreements, vendor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements</li> <li>Manage, build, and implement contract management tools and workflows across multiple internal teams and stakeholders that are scalable as the company grows, including with respect to common contract-related requests and tracking non-standard contract terms</li> <li>Provide legal advice on and serve as the first point of contact for contract matters, inbound contract-related requests, and non-standard contract term requests</li> <li>Manage and maintain contract templates and repositories and website terms of service</li> <li>Build strong relationships and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Procurement, RFP, and other relevant teams</li> <li>Assist Legal team with various projects on an as-needed basis</li> <li>Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we continue to open new offices and scale globally</li> </ul> <p><b>Minimum requirements for the role:</b></p> <ul> <li>2+ years of contracts management and/or contracts experience</li> <li>Excellent contracting drafting and negotiation skills</li> <li>Outstanding interpersonal skills that allow for clear communication (both written and verbal)</li> <li>Interest in being a true partner to our business stakeholders and immersing yourself in the ins and outs of our business and the industry in which we operate</li> <li>Ability to build, develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships</li> <li>A high degree of professional integrity, ethics and sound judgment</li> <li>Be a highly proactive self-starter who delivers quality work within tight timelines</li> <li>Be humble, adaptable and flexible, with a growth mindset and desire to work on a variety of matters</li> <li>J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials</li> <li>Membership in at least one U.S. state bar</li> </ul> <p><b>An ideal candidate also has:</b></p> <ul> <li>Experience with drafting and negotiating software license agreements</li> <li>Experience with contracts management systems</li> <li>Experience at a tech company</li> <li>Fluency and/or experience working in Spanish and/or French</li> </ul> <div> <div> <b>Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy</b>: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver total compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs). A new hire RSU award is awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. <p> We pay for performance, and top performers are eligible to receive above target equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.</p> </div> <p><b> The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below.
