<p>The Nebraska Department of Justice / Nebraska Attorney General’s Office is currently seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Attorney General ("AAG") in the Office's Criminal Appellate Division.<br> <br> Salary commensurate with comparable state agency positions and candidate experience. Full-time state benefits available. <p>The Assistant Attorney General shall appear on behalf of the State in all manner of appeals arising from criminal convictions with opportunity for appellate practice before both state and federal appellate courts. The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for multiple appeals and must possess excellent brief writing ability.</p>

<b>Qualifications / Requirements</b>
</div>
<div>
<p>REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an ABA accredited law school and a license to practice law in Nebraska, or clear ability to be licensed in Nebraska by motion; Minimum at least one year of experience in a private law firm or government agency or at least one year as a judicial clerk. Excellent legal writing skills and demonstrated work ethic.<br> <br> PREFERRED: Judicial clerkship experience. Three or more years of civil litigation, appellate advocacy or criminal prosecution experience. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the relevant position.<br> <br> OTHER: Some travel required.
