Description
Seyfarth Shaw LLP is seeking a part-time hourly attorney with a minimum of 2 years employment law experience to join our exciting Innovative Staffing Team (IST) in the Labor & Employment Department of its WDC office. This position is designed to be flexible on location, including working from home with access to our any of our local offices as needed. Experience: Candidates should have 2+ years employment law experience, with each year demonstrating increased responsibility, and preferable experience handling workers€™ compensation claims under the Longshore Act and Harbor Workers Compensation Act. Candidates should have working knowledge of federal, state and local government administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Labor. Candidates should have the ability to handle a broad range of employment law matters, including responding to EEOC charges, defending investigations, preparing position statements, defending clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, representing clients in mediations and conciliations, and negotiating settlements, as well as matters under the Longshore Act. Candidates should also have litigation experience, preferably employment law related, including drafting responsive pleadings, handling all aspects of the discovery process, and drafting discovery and dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment. The IST is an elite team of lawyers within Seyfarth who want the flexibility of an hourly position but want the advantage and excitement of working with the best employment team in the country.
