Faegre Drinker is actively recruiting an Intellectual Property Patent Agent to join our thriving Intellectual Property practice. This position offers the opportunity to be involved with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution and can be located in our Chicago, Denver, Florham Park, Ft. Wayne, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. or Wilmington office. Current status as a registered patent agent is a requirement. Successful candidates should have a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field with two or more years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to one or more of chemical engineering, chemical compounds, chemical processes, biochemistry and related technologies (experience in pharmaceutical, biologics or life sciences applications is also a plus). Candidates must be collaborative and motivated to succeed in a client-focused, team-oriented environment. Preferred candidates will have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills and professional recommendations. The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position is $95,000 – $165,000. Actual initial salary may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in all cases consistent with applicable law. This is an exempt role and the initial salary range listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker’s total compensation and benefits package for professional staff, which includes, but is not limited to, a discretionary bonus; life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
