Kaufman Dolowich LLP is seeking a dynamic Paralegal to join our legal team out of our Dallas, Texas office. The Paralegal will provide support to attorneys and paralegals in the preparation and handling of cases. This individual is responsible to assist with administrative tasks as it relates to the specific office and attorneys/paralegals in order to contribute to efficient office operations. Additionally, the individual works directly with our attorneys and paralegals to prepare for upcoming cases, gets involved in fact-finding projects and helps manage cases by being organized, detail-oriented, professional, responsible and committed. Responsibilities and Duties: Prepare, edit and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements and pleadings) Draft form pleadings, discovery demands and discovery responses, including but not limited to: Request for Production, Interrogatories and Requests for Admissions. Process outgoing document production that involves redacting and bates stamping. Assist with trial preparation: create trial notebooks, coordinate trial copy jobs with copy service and coordinate delivery and pick up of trial notebooks etc. from court. Keep up with court/judge’s rules and filing procedures. File documents with various courts (traditional and e-filing). Communicate with court staff regarding various issues. Process deposition transcripts. Document review and “hot docs” selection and arrangement. Assist with medical records procurement, including but not limited to processing HIPAA authorizations, following up with providers for outstanding records, processing invoices, updating HIPAA checklist and maintaining HIPAA files. Other duties, as needed, to support the firm and office operations. Paralegal certification from NALA, AACP or ABA-approved program. Ability to multitask and prioritize workload. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion with limited guidance. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Detail-oriented. Strong organizational skills. Excellent communication. Experience in using legal database software. Familiarity with legal terminology and principles. Strong technology skills.
