Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Life Sciences Patent Agent to join their nationally recognized Intellectual Property Team. This position is based in San Francisco or Silicon Valley; however, we will consider strong candidates in Dallas, Del Mar, or Downtown San Diego. Sheppard Mullin’s intellectual property team comprises litigation, prosecution, and transaction specialists who are trained in a broad spectrum of sciences, technologies, and industries. Our philosophy is that clients are best served when their diverse intellectual property matters are handled by a single team of attorneys and support staff who are in regular communication about legal strategy and goals. Our clients range from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies who regularly seek our guidance on issues involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. We also offer cutting-edge advice related to the Internet, privacy concerns, antitrust, counterfeiting, and grey market goods. As a member of a growing and dynamic practice group, the successful candidate will handle a variety of patent projects, including drafting, prosecution, post-grant proceedings, opinions, and due diligence. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading group of Intellectual Property professionals in a collaborative team of attorneys and staff that fosters teamwork and development. The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: Must be admitted to practice before the USPTO. Candidates will have at least a master’s degree and preferably a PhD in Chemistry or other related fields. The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $250,000.
