HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is currently seeking a licensed Associate Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience in practice areas such as medical malpractice, general liability, employment and trusts/estates law to join our talented team. The position will be in our Springfield, IL, office. This is an ideal opportunity for attorneys with an interest in general civil litigation, particularly in cases involving healthcare law, , and open and interested in handling matters involving environmental, transactional and insurance defense. Ideal Candidate will have: Good standing with the Illinois bar Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Self-motivated with a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership Proactive in seeking out new challenges and opportunities for growth Possesses a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence Possesses a questioning mindset, always looking to understand the ’why’ and ’how’ of processes and the ability to communicate potential strategies Deposition experience (preferred) Duties include: Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy. Assist with document review Assist with case management and trial preparation Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and mediations Prepare responses to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents Monitor routine case files to ensure deadlines are maintained; investigate facts and legal matters to determine causes of action
