Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in over 30 practice groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Trust and Estates Paralegal to support our Trust and Estate Department in our Rochester, NY location. Position Responsibilities: Assist with all phases of estate and trust administration Prepare pleadings to file with courts to initiate estate proceedings and judicial settlement proceedings Monitor and maintain the administration of assigned estates and trusts Monitor estate and trust accounts, including the payment of monthly expenses Prepare federal and New York State estate tax returns Marshalling and transfer of assets Gather information needed for preparation of fiduciary income tax returns required for estates and trusts; conduct initial preparation of tax returns Preparation of estate/trust judicial accountings eFiling of documents in various counties Conduct investigations, prepare correspondence or documents for attorney review Contact court administration and regulatory bodies as needed to fulfill job assignment Communicate with the IRS, New York State and other tax authorities regarding notices Job Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of trust and estate related experience, including a background in trusts and estates and probate, with a law firm or in-house legal department (Required) Minimum of 2 years of college, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Tax Independent, proactive, organized and diligent worker and able to work with minimal direction Able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities Strong problem solving/analytical skills and proven interpersonal/teamwork abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong technical skills with attention to detail Experience with bookkeeping, tax and estate administration software programs a plus At Bond, exceptional work product and a collegial work environment are cornerstones of our success.
