Description
The Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP has an incredible opportunity for a Staff Attorney to join its growing and market-leading eDiscovery and Information Governance practice. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience as an attorney and 2-5 years of technical computer experience and/or eDiscovery software experience. Must be admitted to the Illinois Bar. Seyfarth’s eDiscovery and Information Governance attorneys focus on pre-litigation eDiscovery counseling and the preservation, collection, review and production of electronic information in litigation, as well as digital forensics and information governance issues related to data security, privacy, and records management. Duties will include assisting in eDiscovery litigation, managing eDiscovery platforms, analysis of complex evidentiary data sets, managing vendor relationships, and managing document review projects. Additional duties may also include developing and implementing preservation plans, responding to eDiscovery requests, drafting pleadings related to eDiscovery litigation, preparing for meet and confer negotiations, developing and implementing discovery plans, and providing advice to firm clients on topics such as litigation readiness, best practices regarding records retention, data preservation and collection, and related information governance matters. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, and verbal and written communication skills. Formal or informal computer experience, training, certification and/or education is desired, along with a working knowledge of eDiscovery jurisprudence. Microsoft Excel proficiency is a must. The strongest candidates will have experience managing large scale document review projects, as well as experience administering eDiscovery platforms (including significant Relativity expertise, including designing and executing complex searches) and using forensics tools (such as EnCase or FTK). Candidates with experience in litigation, continuous active learning and predictive coding, data analysis, process automation and scripting, database and large data set mining, workflow development and/or eDiscovery process documentation are desired.
