<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText">Aon is looking for an ERISA / Employee Benefits Attorney <br> <br> Legal consultant to assist clients and colleagues with federal income tax and ERISA questions and issues related to the design and administration of benefit, compensation, and human resource programs. <br> <br> <b>Responsibilities:</b> <br> We are looking for an applicant who has an interest in employee benefit plan laws (primarily federal income tax and ERISA) as these laws apply to the plans and programs of large national and international employers in various industries. Background in the areas described below will be helpful but not required. Willingness to learn and to be part of a national team of experienced employee benefits attorneys is required. The successful candidate will be part of Aon’s (9) attorney National Legal Consulting &amp; Compliance Team and will work under the supervision of an experienced Employee Benefits Attorney. The job responsibilities will include the following: Research and assist clients and colleagues address tax and ERISA questions related to the design and administration of their benefit, compensation, and human resource programs Work with consulting teams comprised of actuaries, defined contribution plan specialists, and investment professionals to assess alternative plan and business strategies along with associated tax and legal issues Work as part of a team in drafting/reviewing defined benefit, defined contribution, and executive benefit plan documents and amendments Assist with IRS filings including determination letter applications, EPCRS filings, and as required to comply with various reporting obligations Draft plan disclosures (e.g., summary plan descriptions and summaries of material modifications) and communication materials relating to M&amp;A transactions or new plan designs Assist with the review of qualified domestic relations orders and their application to retirement plan benefits Research new and innovative ideas involving retirement plans (including cash balance plans, 401(k) plans, and nonqualified plans and arrangements) Excellent research and writing skills relating to federal income tax and ERISA issues; comfort with researching technical issues using on-line tools Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and their impact on client plans and programs Research/analyze information to send to clients Interest in working directly with sophisticated clients and colleagues on complex employee benefit issues <br> <br> <b>Qualifications:</b> Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required and admission to the bar of any state Genuine interest in developing a long-term career in a fast and evolving area The ability to work closely with attorney and non-attorney colleagues in multiple disciplines on legal and technical/strategic matters will be highly valued Possess outstanding research and writing skills <br> <br> We offer you <br> <br> A competitive total rewards package, continuing education &amp; training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization. <br> <br> <b>Our Colleague Experience:</b> <br> From helping clients gain access to capital after natural disasters, to creating access to health care and retirement for millions, Aon colleagues empower results for our clients, communities, and each other every day.
