This is what #LifeAtBNYMellon is all about. <br>We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Counsel – Intellectual Property / Marketing to join our Data, Intellectual Property, Technology &amp; Innovation Legal team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL – HYBRID (in office 3 days per week) <br> <br> <b>In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:</b> <br> Work closely with stakeholders across BNY Mellon including Engineering and AI teams, to provide counseling and guidance on IP matters related to its businesses, products, services and strategies. <br>Advise and guide the Global Marketing and Communications team on a wide range of issues pertaining to marketing and communications strategies and content across various platforms for all business lines. <br>Provide legal advice on intellectual property aspects of licensing activities, merger and acquisition activities, and other strategic alliances. <br>Work collaboratively with inventors and innovators to support the strategic growth of BNY Mellon’s Patent Program. <br>Advise on free and open source license obligations and provide counsel on issues regarding open source compliance. <br>Clearly articulate and communicate straightforward advice on IP issues to senior business leaders. <br> <br> <b>To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:</b> <br> A J.D. from a top-tier law school. <br>Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction in which the role is based. <br>3-7 years minimum of professional experience as an admitted attorney, both in-house and law firm experience preferred. <br>Prior intellectual property legal experience within the financial services industry or comparable law firm experience preferred. <br>Knowledge of software and technology relevant to BNY Mellon’s business and willingness to learn new innovations. <br>Experience providing support on copyright law matters and copyright risk management. <br>Experience counseling on free and open source software preferred. <br>Basic knowledge of patents and the patent process. <br>Strong drafting and negotiating skills applicable to various intellectual property agreements. <br>Strong written and oral communication skills. <br>At BNY Mellon, our inclusive culture speaks for itself.
