The Legal Counsel is responsible for a variety of in-house legal duties but will primarily be accountable for commercial transactions. This includes preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts involving sales, leases, licenses, procurement, consulting services providers, etc. and protecting the company against legal risks. The Legal Counsel will support flooring solutions and sports surfaces businesses in North America. This position reports directly to the General Counsel &amp; SVP of Legal &amp; Acquisitions. Responsibilities <ul> <li> Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including but not limited to master purchasing agreements, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), installation contracts, requests for bids/proposals, software licensing and other information technology agreements, warranties, standard terms and conditions, and non-disclosure agreements. </li> <li> Provide counsel to North American operations of Tarkett regarding a wide range of legal and policy issues related to all aspects of product manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution. </li> <li> Provide legal support to functional teams for product claims and human resources matters, </li> <li> Develop and implement strategic approaches to resolution of legal issues. </li> <li> All other duties as assigned. </li> </ul> Desired skills and experience <ul> <li> Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited U.S. law school. </li> <li> 2+ years of in-house legal or law firm experience </li> <li> Admitted to practice under a state bar. </li> <li> Corporate generalist experience in commercial transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, and policy/procedure creation and review, including familiarity with UCC and general commercial law. </li> <li> Must be able to work independently and manage matters to successful resolutions. </li> <li> Must be able to work in a fast pace environment </li> <li> Strong attention to detail and accuracy. </li> <li> Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiating skills. </li> <li> Must be disposed to operate in a collaborative, responsive and proactive manner, gaining the confidence and trust of the business partners throughout the organization. </li> </ul> What We Offer <ul> <li> A commitment that Safety is #1 </li> <li> Competitive benefits, pay, and retirement plan options! </li> <li> Career growth, stability, and flexible work arrangements. </li> </ul> Responsible Manufacturing – Protecting Our Planet for the Future <ul> <li> We utilize renewable energy and a closed loop recycled water process. </li> <li> We are committed to reducing greenhouse emissions and water consumption. </li> <li> We are the only flooring company recognized by the Asthma and Allergy foundation. </li> </ul> Who we are: With a history of 140 years, Tarkett is a worldwide leader in innovative flooring and sport surface solutions with 12,000 employees and 34 industrial sites.
