Specifically in relation to construction, data center, engineering and project related services. <br> <br> The role will require in-depth knowledge and understanding of construction, related services, contracting and regulatory compliance including: <br> <br> data centre related contracts including preventative maintenance and equipment installation services <br>supplier/subcontractor contracts <br>design and/or build contracts including industry templates such as AIA/DBIA contracts <br>consultant/technical services appointments (cost consultancy, project management) <br>working knowledge of regulatory landscape and requirements for delivery of licensed services/engineering in NY and other US states as required <br>outsourcing/FM contracts <br>Strong contract interpretation and drafting skills <br>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be adept at identifying key legal issues, developing creative solutions to complicated legal problems, and effectively communicating the same to internal stakeholders and clients <br>Experience working in the professional services sector a plus <br>Understanding of risk management/mitigation issues as they relate to contracts for professional services <br> <br> Core Responsibilities <br>Actively draft and negotiate complex project management, design &amp; build, facilities management, and related consulting services agreements with clients <br>Participate in Americas and PDS Commercial Review Board meetings and present to senior executives and management on areas of legal, commercial, and operational risks present in client contracts, the existence of operational and contractual mitigants, and the scope of services to be performed <br>Analyze complex contractual risks and counsel business teams on operational and legal issues associated with client contracts, as well as matters of contract interpretation, implementation, and risk mitigation strategies <br>Serve as a strategic partner to the Work Dynamics and PDS business teams which includes providing legal support to help advance various business initiatives including the launch of new commercial products and service offerings <br>Develop and lead regular trainings on various legal topics to internal JLL stakeholders and legal team members <br>Counsel internal business clients on a wide variety of legal issues that arise in the context of performing services for JLL’s Work Dynamics client accounts <br>Liaise with JLL’s Risk Management Department and other internal support functions (e.g., Finance, HR, Tax, Information Security, Compliance) to identify, assess, and thoughtfully mitigate JLL’s exposure to risk <br>Provide support on litigated and non-litigated commercial claims <br>Perform legal research as needed <br> <br> Qualifications <br>Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record <br>Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a practicing attorney with a focus on construction, engineering, project management, facilities management and related services <br>Strong knowledge of construction law principles, contracts, regulations and industry standards <br>Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and management <br>Combination of in-house experience and private practice is a plus <br>Experience with the data center industry a plus <br>Licensed to practice law in Illinois <br>Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential <br>Able to conceptualize and articulate pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions to complex legal and business challenges <br>Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration. <br>Able to work independently, but in a team environment <br>Acute attention to detail <br> <br> What you can expect from us <br>We succeed together and believe the best inspire the best, so we invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our success.
