Assistant Attorney General - Internet Crimes Against Children The Justice Division of the Utah Attorney General’s Office has an immediate opening for an experienced prosecuting attorney to work with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The Internet Crimes Against Children prosecution unit prosecutes technology-facilitated crimes against children, including child sex abuse material/child pornography, enticement of a minor, “hands-on” sexual offenses, and other sexual offenses against children. This position requires exposure to evidence containing graphic sexual content and child sex abuse materials. The attorney selected for this position will work as part of a task force which embeds prosecutors with investigators. The attorney may have the opportunity to prosecute federal cases as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. There is a strong preference for applicants with a minimum of 3 years of prosecution experience. Applicants should clearly describe their criminal law experience in their cover letter, including experience with jury trials, sex offenses, and advising law enforcement officers. This position requires excellent written and oral advocacy skills and the ability to try both jury and bench trials. The successful applicant must be a member of the Utah State Bar prior to beginning employment and have demonstrated the ability to work effectively with law enforcement agencies. Travel is required as incumbents will need to represent the State of Utah in criminal and other legal proceedings throughout the State.
