THE OPPORTUNITY: We have an exciting opportunity for 2Ls to join our 2025 Summer Program as a Summer Associate. Our Summer Program offers a strong educational component supported by practical learning opportunities. Summer Associates work hand-in-hand with Seyfarth partners, who are dedicated to ensuring their continued professional development. A team of partner and associate mentors will also provide individualized feedback and coaching. Our Summer Program is unique insofar as Summer Associates are assigned to a specific Department for the entire summer. By working primarily with one Department, our Summer Associates gain deeper knowledge, insights and experiences of a particular practice, thus preparing you for your first year as a lawyer and beyond. Although you’ll be assigned to one Department, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet and socialize with your fellow Summer Associates and with lawyers in other Departments both office-wide and firm-wide! Please submit your resume, transcript and a writing sample. In addition, because we hire Summer Associates by Department, please submit a cover letter indicating your preferred practice group(s): Corporate, Labor & Employment or Real Estate. THE DAY-TO-DAY: As a Summer Associate, you are given the opportunity to work alongside our attorneys on real client work. A specialized curriculum tailored to your specific Department will help bridge the gap between your academic and experiential learning. Summer Associates will also work on actual client cases and projects, and will have the opportunity to attend client meetings. Summer Associates will also gain practical experience by shadowing attorneys on a variety of deals and cases in order to enhance your learning in the substantive course areas. YOU HAVE: One year of law school under your belt and expect your JD in May 2026; Demonstrated academic achievement at the law school level; An appreciation for collaboration and teamwork; and An interest in a specific practice area, evidenced by coursework, certificate programs, and prior work experience. WHAT WE PROVIDE: Our Summer Associates are given the opportunity to develop robust, hands-on skills that build upon and complement their formal law school education through: A specialized training curriculum, including substantive seminars on important legal topics Training in ethics, client service, marketing, legal writing, communications, and finance taught by leading practitioners from throughout the firm Practical learning opportunities, including attending depositions, court appearances, closings and client meetings Cutting-edge legal work on active cases and client projects We are also proud to be an influential leader in inclusion and diversity. COMPENSATION: Compensation for this position is based upon an annualized salary of $210,000.
