The Role Department: International Arbitration and Commercial Litigation Location: London Role: Paralegal, Permanent The Team Our International Arbitration and Commercial Litigation team focus on supporting clients across a variety of sectors including financial, trade and energy disputes. The team handles complex cases across many jurisdictions, and are renowned for high-value commercial work. Due to the nature of the team’s work, they often work closely with our international network. The Role The role will involve supporting associates managing a portfolio of claims within the energy sector. The post-holder must be willing to work both in an administrative and fee-earning capacity. Responsibilities include providing administrative support and general litigation assistance related to the portfolio, both on the macro scale and in relation to individual claims. There will be the opportunity to draft correspondence, court forms, and to assist in the preparation of other documents. The post-holder will be working directly with senior fee earners and within a team of paralegals and trainees. Tasks will often have tight and competing deadlines and candidates will need project management skills and ensure work is completed in a timely manner. Essential Skills & Experience Law degree, GDL or equivalent is required. Experience working in a dynamic office environment. Litigation/Disputes experience and familiarity with the UK Court system is preferred. Project Management experience is desirable but not essential. Excellent attention to detail and client-service focused. Supporting fee earner with file management, document review, preparing reports and bundles. Administrative support in the form of, but not limited to, updating systems and internal records to ensure all deadlines are met. Proven track record of working effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines. Effective communicator with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders. Team player, sharing in team goals to provide excellent quality and efficiency of service, with a willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges. Willingness to learn and ability to take on feedback.
