Cognizant is a member of the NASDAQ-100, the S&amp;P 500, the Forbes Global 2000, and the Fortune 500; and is ranked among the top performing and fastest growing companies in the world.</p> <p>ROLE</p> <p>A mid-level attorney who will serve as a Corporate Counsel at the Associate Director level in a cross-functional commercial risk and legal team that provides contracting and negotiation expertise to win complex, multi-service outsourcing technology and services deals with clients from around the world and across industries.</p> <p>At Cognizant, we have a diverse legal team working closely with business, sales, and other corporate functions to help Cognizant deliver digital and information technology solutions for our customers around the globe. The work is fast-paced and dynamic; and it will continuously challenge you to learn and grow as an attorney.</p> <p>A minimum of four (4) years of experience at a major law firm or in-house at a similarly situated organization is required.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE &amp; REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Contracts:</p> <ul> <li>Deep knowledge of contracting terms relevant to IT services and outsourcing: </li> <ul> <li>IT/BPO/Outsourcing industry knowledge.</li> <li>Finance, accounting, procurement, and legal principles that are core to IT contracting.</li> <li>Provisions relevant to outsourcing and IT products/services.</li> <li>Commercial levers and variables key for positive deal outcomes.</li> <li>Financial and business considerations that underpin contracting positions.</li> <li>Extensive drafting experience with the ability to accurately review, understand and negotiate provisions.</li> </ul> </ul> <p>Negotiations:</p> <ul> <li>Experience participating and/or leading high stakes negotiations with a high degree of collaboration.</li> <li>Ability to develop a negotiation plan and strategy. </li> <li>Adept at escalating and acquiring internal alignment on preferred positions and final positions.</li> <li>Mastery of listening to client positions while advocating Cognizant’s positions to find workable solutions.</li> </ul> <p>Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Professionalism – proactive and leads by example; role model; strong communicator; able to build positive relationships and influence others; solves issues to meet objectives; results driven; maintains composure in stressful situations; maintains integrity at all times.</li> <li>Teamwork – trusted advisor; opinion actively sought and valued by peers; able to work effectively with expansive teams with a wide range of skills and levels of expertise.</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>The ideal candidate for this role will have all the following qualifications: </p> <ul> <li>JD from a top tier law school</li> <li>Licensed attorney with a minimum of 4+ years of expertise in commercial transactions at a major law firm or in-house at a similarly situated organization.</li> <li>Demonstrated track record of closing strategic deals.</li> <li>Great interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.</li> <li>Ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work, and adjust to frequent workload fluctuations across multiple time zones.</li> <li>Ability to work in a rapidly changing and diverse environment and comfort navigating through ambiguous situations.</li> <li>Commitment to promoting an ethical workplace culture and supporting compliance processes and programs.</li> <li>Ability to travel up to 33% or more if needed for negotiations.</li> </ul> <p>All candidates required to be licensed or have in house licensure in the state in which they work.</p> <p>Salary and Other Compensation:</p> <p>The annual salary for this position is between $95,500-$196,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.</p> <p>This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.</p> <p>Benefits: Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance</li> <li>Paid holidays plus Paid Time Off</li> <li>401(k) plan and contributions</li> <li>Long-term/Short-term Disability</li> <li>Paid Parental Leave</li> <li>Employee Stock Purchase Plan</li> </ul> <p>Disclaimer: The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
