Join Roche, where every voice matters.</p> <p></p> <div> The Position </div> <div> Senior Legal Counsel, Roche Diagnostics Solutions<br> <br> Location: Tucson, AZ, Pleasanton, CA or Santa Clara, CA<br> <br> We are looking for an experienced in-house lawyer to join the Roche Diagnostics Solutions Legal Team.<br> <br> You will be part of a global network of legal professionals and support various aspects of product<br> strategy, development, and manufacturing for Roche Diagnostics.<br> <br> You will provide legal services to multiple areas of our business, including partnering/business<br> development, R&amp;D, product lifecycle management, manufacturing, and supply chain. This will<br> include support for one or more leadership teams responsible for particular product areas within<br> the business.<br> <br> To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to assess and anticipate legal and<br> business risks associated with complex projects and innovative diagnostic products. You need to<br> be able to communicate well-reasoned recommendations to senior executives and business<br> stakeholders clearly and concisely. You should be comfortable with calibrating and advising on<br> acceptable levels of risk commensurate with broader business objectives. You will be expected<br> to structure, draft, and negotiate a wide range of agreements and develop and recommend<br> innovative solutions to complex legal and business issues.<br> <br> Responsibilities<br> <br> <ul> <li>Support complex, international business projects employing considerable independent</li> </ul> legal judgment, experience, and analysis.<br> <ul> <li>Provide strategic assistance and guidance on a variety of legal matters.</li> <li>Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including collaboration</li> </ul> agreements, development agreements, licenses, software development agreements,<br> supply agreements, research agreements, global distribution agreements, and service<br> agreements.<br> <ul> <li>Manage disputes and litigation arising from your assigned business areas.</li> <li>Interact with colleagues across Roche, to determine compliant yet practical legal</li> </ul> responses and planning to meet business needs.<br> <ul> <li>Develop and present legal training on various topics of relevance to and in support of</li> </ul> business needs.<br> <br> Qualification<br> <br> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school</li> <li>Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.</li> <li>Fluency in English</li> </ul> <br> Experience/Requirements<br> <br> <ul> <li>At least 7 years of professional experience (post-bar exam) in a multinational company or</li> </ul> at a respected law firm, preferably in the life sciences industry (e.g. diagnostics,<br> pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry).<br> <ul> <li>Professional experience in handling cases in R&amp;D, business collaborations, licensing,</li> </ul> supply and distribution/sales, and data privacy.<br> <ul> <li>Solid knowledge in the following areas of law: contracts, competition law, IT/software law,</li> </ul> litigation/dispute resolution.<br> <ul> <li>International academic or work experience is a plus.</li> <li>Strong team orientation and purpose-driven.</li> <li>Hands-on mentality and pragmatism: looking at the bigger picture without losing sight of</li> </ul> the details. </div> <ul> <li>Passionate to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.</li> <li>Able to communicate clearly, convincingly, and diplomatically.</li> <li>Familiarity with digital health and data privacy issues.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p>The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of</p> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <p>Arizona is $135,400 - $251,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
