In addition, the position provides general legal support legal support to the Assistant General Counsel, Compliance Director and the Compliance Department as the need arises, including support on anti-corruption, general compliance, and workplace investigations. The position supports two direct reports and is also responsible for effective management of outside counsel, both domestic and international. </div> <div></div> <div> DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: </div> <div></div> <ul> <li> Develop, own, and keep under constant review the company’s global trade compliance programs to include updating policies and guidance, centralizing processes and implementing robust, time-bound remedial plans where necessary.</li> <li> Inform and advise on all global import/export laws and regulations. Develop, maintain, and implement trade compliance policies, procedures, and programs.</li> <li> Manage government outreach, including investigations, subpoenas, and requests for information, and manage government enforcement actions, including voluntary disclosures.</li> <li> Coordinate, plan, and execute annual trade compliance audit calendar for business units and drive remediation plans and audit findings to closure.</li> <li> Develop, maintain, and evaluate risk metrics for all global business units.</li> <li> Develop, maintain, and implement trade compliance trainings, seminars, and conferences.</li> <li> Respond to inquiries from all levels of the organization pertaining to import/export laws.</li> <li> Review, investigate potential trade compliance violations and, as needed, advise on remediation efforts (e.g., recommending business improvement processes, drafting/reviewing submissions to government agencies, voluntary disclosure options, etc.).</li> </ul> <ul> <li> Assist with the analysis of trade compliance risks of potential acquisition targets and play a key role in the integration of new acquisitions.</li> <li> Monitor the industry landscape to keep visibility on evolutions, trends, and best practices related to global trade compliance.</li> <li> Facilitate the understanding of, and where necessary, compliance with, government contracting flow-down clauses.</li> <li> Assist with other objectives and initiatives within the Corporate Compliance department, including supporting the internal hotline and conducting workplace investigations, employee training, and policy development and implementation.</li> <li> Manage the technical and strategic activities of an in-house trade compliance team to maximize employee potential and efficiency.</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> TECHNICAL SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND QUALIFICATIONS: </div> <div></div> <ul> <li> Expertise in areas of trade compliance, including tariff classification, customs valuation, Country of Origin determination, trade relief programs, denied party screening, commodity jurisdiction and export classification, and the management of export licenses.</li> <li> Knowledge of embargoes and sanctions, especially U.S. Dept. of Commerce and Treasury programs.</li> <li> Knowledge of controlled products, including ITAR.</li> <li> J.D. from an ABA-accrediated law school.</li> <li> Licensed to practice law in at least one state and in good standing with all state bars where admitted.
