The incumbent provides legal representation, including drafting legal memoranda, in high-priority legal matters involving Federal fiscal law, torts, employment and labor law, procurement, information and privacy, and other legal matters particular to the Bureau, including serving as the Bureau's representative in administrative forums and federal courts.</p> <div> <h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Responsibilities</b></h4> <p>The following are the duties of this position at the CN-71, broadly equivalent to the GS-15. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an Attorney-Advisor, specializing in general law and ethics, you will:</p> <ul> <li> Provide confidential legal and policy advice in the areas of government ethics and general law, which includes fiscal, employment, EEO, labor, procurement, rules of professional conduct for attorneys, travel and information (such as intellectual property, data rights, government records, information security, privileges, privacy and FOIA).</li> <li> Independently research and analyze relevant complex Federal and state laws, regulations, Executive Orders, OMB and other government-wide directives and memoranda. Leads teams of junior staff in the execution of such matters.</li> <li> Counsel clients, including senior executives, with respect to legal compliance, litigation risk, and other issues.</li> <li> Plan, research, and analyze legal issues arising from policy options and CFPB procedures.
