Type of Experience: King & Spalding seeks a junior to mid-level associate to support its technology transactions, sourcing and commercial transactions practice. The ideal candidate will have in-depth technology transactions drafting and negotiation experience, particularly in connection with complex technology agreements, and experience working on IP transactions (such as technology licensing and subscription agreements, reseller and distribution agreements, open source development and licenses, Internet, social media and e-commerce agreements, inbound and outbound sourcing arrangements (including information technology and business process), software development agreements, content licensing deals, and other technology matters). The ideal candidate will also have experience with IP audits, IP counseling, and experience with IP due diligence relating to M&A and other corporate transactions. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of prior experience with technology transactions experience at a firm or in-house; strong academic credentials, writing ability, and attention to detail; experience interfacing with clients and managing client relationships; and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and offices. While not required, a technical background such as a science degree or computer programming experience or experience in technology consulting is beneficial. The position may be based in any of the firm’s U.S. offices.
