Job Description: Sands Anderson PC is expanding its Business Group in our Raleigh-Durham NC office and is seeking an experienced attorney to join our Data Privacy and Security Team. As a key member of our firm, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on matters related to data protection, privacy regulations, and cybersecurity. Responsibilities: Provide legal counsel to clients on data privacy, security, and compliance matters. Draft and review privacy policies, terms of use, and data protection agreements. Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate data-related risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address cybersecurity incidents and breaches. Stay up-to-date with evolving privacy laws and regulations. Represent clients in legal proceedings related to data breaches or privacy violations. Advise on international data transfers and cross-border data flows. Job Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar. Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing data privacy and security law. Strong knowledge of federal and state privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR). Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification preferred.
