Assistant Director for EDI Initiatives

<p></p> The Assistant Director for EDI Initiatives works closely with the Assistant Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion to integrate equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) values and principles throughout Tulane University Law School (TLS), including through supporting the implementation of the TLS Strategy for Tomorrow Plan over the next several years. Among other responsibilities assigned as needed by the Assistant Dean in furtherance of the work of the EDI Office, the Assistant Director proposes, develops, and implements EDI programming, provides guidance and support for affinity organizations and their members, and partners with the Office of Admissions to expand, lead and support outreach and pipeline programs and initiatives. The Assistant Director also coordinates with other stakeholders to ensure communication of EDI events and programming within the TLS community and with the public more broadly. <p><b><br> Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</b></p> <br> <br> <p></p> <li>Knowledge of EDI best practices in the workplace and higher education.</li> <ul> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication and other interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities and manage relationships with stakeholders with highest degree of professionalism, which specifically includes, but is not limited to, responsiveness, anticipation of needs, attention to detail and initiative-taking.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to execute at a high level on multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.</li> <li>Proven ability to use sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential matters.</li> <li>Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently, requiring little supervision, and collaboratively as part of the EDI Office team.</li> <li>Strong management skills and ability to coordinate teams and data across departments/offices.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to create, implement and expand initiatives and programs.</li> <li>Flexibility and the ability to work non-standard hours as needed.</li> </ul> <p><b><br> Required Education and/or Experience</b></p> <br> <br> <p></p> <li>Bachelor’s Degree</li> <ul> <li>3 years of relevant experience</li> </ul> <b><br> Applicants should submit a cover letter and resume to be considered for this position.</b> <p><b><br> Preferred Qualifications</b></p> <br> <br> <p></p> <li>J.D. from an accredited law school</li> <ul> <li>3 years of experience advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, especially in a law school or higher education setting or in the legal profession.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience planning EDI-related conferences, events, and other programming.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience developing and delivering EDI workshops for diverse audiences.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience in EDI-related program and data management.</li> </ul>
