In this role you will cover and advise on the Markets area in BBH’s Investor Services line of business with significant but not limited to focus on presentation of the Foreign Currency desks (“FX”), primarily in the context of cash trading transactions and related issues. </div> <div></div> <div> The Counsel-Capital Markets – FX, reviews marketing materials, client inquiries and RFPs, and draft and negotiate ISDA Master Agreements (including Credit Support Annexes) and other foreign currency related agreements. </div> <div></div> <div> The Counsel – Capital Markets – FX advises BBH’s Treasury Department in the context of its cash management, interest rate swap and liquidity activities, including as applicable, the review of clearing and swap execution facility trading arrangements. </div> <div></div> <div> The Counsel – Capital Markets –FX advises BBH’s business servicing futures commission merchants and clearing organizations, which services include settlement banking and the posting and investment of margin. </div> <div></div> <div> The Counsel-Capital Markets- FX monitors legal and regulatory developments with respect to the above areas. </div> <div></div> <div> Some of your key responsibilities include: </div> <ul> <li> Provide legal advice and negotiation in support of FX sales and transaction activity.</li> <li> Provide legal advice and negotiation in connection with Treasury’s Cash Management Sweep program.</li> <li> Provide legal advice and negotiation in connection with BBH’s business in support of Futures Commission Merchants.</li> <li> Track and analyze legal developments related to primary areas of responsibility.</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Qualifications: </div> <ul> <li> Must be a graduate of an accredited law school</li> <li> Minimum 7+ years experience as an attorney and admitted into the state bar</li> <li> Prior experience working on, or supporting, trading desks and businesses is a plus</li> <li> Excellent knowledge of capital markets activities of banks and brokers</li> <li> Knowledge of relevant CFTC statutes, rules and regulations</li> <li> Knowledge of foreign currency and fixed income documentation and legal issues, including ISDA Master Agreements and Credit Support Annexes (Note: bespoke derivatives experience is not necessarily relevant)</li> <li> Ability to negotiate complex agreements to completion</li> <li> Ability to prioritize, take initiative and bring projects to conclusion</li> <li> Ability to work effectively with various internal and external constituencies</li> <li> Ability to work with peers while retaining responsibility for results</li> <li> Strong sense of business and legal ethics</li> <li> Attention to detail is a must</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> What We Offer: </div> <ul> <li> Direct access to clients, information and experts across all business areas around the world</li> <li> Opportunities to grow your expertise, take on new challenges, and reinvent yourself—without leaving the firm</li> <li> A culture of inclusion that values each employee’s unique perspective</li> <li> High-quality benefits program emphasizing good health, financial security, and peace of mind</li> <li> Rewarding work with the flexibility to enjoy personal and family experiences at every career stage</li> <li> Volunteer opportunities to give back to your community and help transform the lives of others</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000, which is specific to New York, NY and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
