Kennedys, a global law firm with offices throughout the US, seeks a full-time Paralegal with 3+ years of solid insurance litigation experience related to New York and New Jersey law to join our team. This is a really exciting opportunity for an ambitious Paralegal to join a growing, global law firm. Key Responsibilities Ability to review medical records and add relevant dates/information to the medical chronology Prepare discovery motions (Motions to Extend Discovery, Motion to Compel Discovery and Motion Dismiss Complaint for Plaintiff’s Failure to Provide Discovery) Experience reviewing Plaintiff’s Answers to Interrogatories Schedule and coordinate IME’s for plaintiff Research (Westlaw preferred) and other online sources Assist in retention of experts Prepare HIPPA Authorization Forms for Plaintiff’s execution and return Retrieval of medical records from providers Follow-up with providers to ensure receipt of records of HIPPA request Perform Jury Verdict Searches using Westlaw Preparation of appeals, motions and privilege logs Production of documents Shepardizing [blue booking]cases Required Experience 3+ years of relevant experience (Insurance Litigation, Defense preferred) Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Thorough working knowledge of and experience working the New York and New Jersey court systems Experience drafting and entering time entries Experience with Westlaw Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred or relevant years of experience Please let us know if you require any additional support or adjustments to be made in order to submit your application to Kennedys. *Where a level of experience is indicated, this is a guideline only and represents the amount of time we would usually expect a candidate to accumulate the requisite level of experience.
