Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking experienced attorneys with Commercial Litigation experience to join its Litigation group. Litigation associates have an exciting opportunity to learn from and work closely with energetic, highly experienced legal practitioners in a friendly, cooperative environment. Simultaneously handles the high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression, from inception to conclusion Possesses strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills for communicating with attorneys and clients Demonstrates an ability to work independently and productively and show a strong interest in advancing a career in litigation Produces quality legal work and bills the required amounts of hours to ensure excellent client services Manages business and assists in the generation of business through group and individual efforts Complies with the very highest ethical standards of the legal profession Competencies: Decision Making – actively makes decisions on client matters with consultation of other attorneys Communication - strong, professional communication, both written and orally to both internal and external clients Leadership – appropriately delegates tasks Continuous Learning - actively embraces learning new skills, areas of the law, mastering new technology and sharing with others Teamwork – cooperatively works as a member of client teams and begins to lead teams in matters Alignment to Values - Influences the awareness and adoption of the Firm’s values on a larger scale; influences the awareness and adoption of diversity and inclusion; demonstrates respect by providing solutions and support Required Education: Juris Doctor Preferred Education: graduate of a Top 25 law school, or a graduate in the top 10% of graduating class from an accredited law school; positions on law school’s premier law journal a plus Required Licenses and/or Certifications: Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of Illinois; must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirements Required Experience: 2 years’ experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or clerking Preferred Experience: 3-5 years’ experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm Supervisory Responsibilities: Indirect - actively utilizes support staff or junior associates to ensure client satisfaction Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit (or utilize a standing desk) for prolonged periods and work on a computer Travel Required: Generally less than 10%, however, this will be case specific and may, at times, involve more travel.
