Litigation/Labor and Employment Associate Position Opening (2-5 Years’ Experience)

Felhaber Larson has an immediate opening for a litigation/labor and employment associate with 2-5 years of experience. This is a partner-track position. While the immediate need will be primarily in the litigation and labor and employment practice groups, this associate will have the opportunity to explore all of Felhaber Larson’s practice areas, including its real estate, transactional, and corporate practice groups, among others. Within the litigation practice group, this associate will litigate a diverse case load, including: labor and employment litigation, commercial and general business litigation, partnership/shareholder disputes, real estate litigation, construction litigation, and more. This associate will be expected to handle the following types of tasks: Conduct legal research and draft research memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents; Collaborate with senior associates and partners on case strategy and tactics; Draft discovery requests and responses to discovery requests; Take and defend depositions; Draft non-dispositive and dispositive motions; and Prepare for hearings and trial. With the labor and employment practice group, in addition to litigating cases, the associate may be involved with employment advice and counseling, responses to administrative charges, employee handbook reviews, labor arbitrations, NLRB proceedings, unionization and labor unit issues, work stoppages, and the like. The successful attorney’s skillset includes: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; Excellent analytical skills; Aptitude to prioritize multiple responsibilities and a workload of diverse matters in a timely, accurate and efficient manner; and Solid work ethic, sound legal judgment, initiative, and versatility. Requirements: Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law school; and Licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota or ability to become licensed in Minnesota within 3 months.
