Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Worker’s Compensation Paralegal in its Princeton office. The paralegal will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s); therefore, they will enhance the attorney’s effectiveness. These duties will include, but it is not limited to: maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involve in the cases etc. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions Knowledge of legal documents and terminology Knowledge of billing Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and articles Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm’s document Management software Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing council Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions. EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, Associates’ degree, or certificate degree in paralegal studies. 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal. Workers Compensation experience preferred, but not required. This position offers a competitive salary, bonuses, and a full benefits package.
