Position Information Hiring Manager: Director Department: Structured Products The Structured Products Team is a component of the Investor Partners Group (“IPG”) which is responsible for all debt and equity strategies and placement for the Firm. The Structured Products Team is responsible for the structuring and placement of a variety of debt solutions for our various funds and accounts, all of which support our Direct Lending, Broadly Syndicated Loan and Credit Opportunities businesses. Firmwide, the Structured Products Team has executed 103 securitization vehicles representing more than $57 billion in notional value. In addition, the Structured Products Team manages more than $20 billion of debt commitments across a variety of loan-to-SPV secured bank lines, corporate revolvers, and capital call lines of credit. The team has an outstanding track record of top tier execution and innovation in the debt capital markets. The team interfaces with external banks and investors, while staying closely aligned with front, middle and back office functions to ensure delivery of timely and efficient debt solutions for the Firm’s various strategies. Position Responsibilities The Senior Associate will be responsible for structuring and negotiating middle market secured lending facilities. The Senior Associate may also participate in the ongoing securitization efforts for the Firm’s BSL, middle market and recurring revenue loan portfolios. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: <ul> <li> Leading, structuring and negotiating secured bank line transactions including traditional senior asset pool financings, repo facilities, NAV facilities and total return swaps</li> <li> Acting as primary point of contact for asset backed finance counterparts at global investment banking counterparties</li> <li> Assisting Structured Products &amp; Treasury Counsel in the management of the legal process associated with new debt financing transactions and all amendments, extensions and waivers</li> <li> Maintaining forward pipeline of lender opportunities for deployment across existing or new Golub Capital funds</li> <li> Coordinating with Treasury and Operations to ensure the smooth pricing and closing of all transactions, as well as the continued efficiency of our financing structures</li> <li> Researching, analyzing and developing product ideas related to new and existing business initiatives</li> <li> Modeling effectiveness of terms and structures proposed to Golub Capital by new and existing counterparties</li> <li> Building and expanding relationships with existing and prospective syndicate partners</li> </ul> Candidate Requirements Qualifications &amp; Experience: <ul> <li> Bachelor’s degree from a top tier institution</li> <li> Strong experience in the structured finance industry</li> <li> 6+ years of relevant experience including experience at an investment bank, asset manager or law firm</li> <li> Financial transaction modeling experience; rating agency modeling and / or internal bank risk modeling experience a plus</li> <li> Heightened attention to detail; must be meticulous and consistently accurate with excellent analytical reasoning capabilities</li> <li> Exceptional written and verbal communication skills</li> <li> Strong intellect and appropriate self-confidence; comfortable and poised working with colleagues at varying levels with different working styles</li> <li> Ability to learn and excel at day-to-day responsibilities and contribute to driving process improvement, standardization and automation</li> <li> Strong project management skills</li> <li> Abide by our work-in-office policies then in effect</li> </ul> Critical Competencies for Success Our Gold Standards Model defines key behaviors and competencies across 4 dimensions: Leadership, Achieving Results, Personal Effectiveness and Thinking Critically. Evaluates questions and requests regarding documentation language from investors in relation to the impact on the deal.</li> <li> Relationship Management: Establishes relationships with internal and external stakeholders to initiate and evaluate potential deals or investors.</li> </ul> Compensation and Benefits For New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $225,000 to $245,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered.
