<p><b>Summary of Position</b>:</p> <p> Civitas Resources, Inc. (“Civitas”; NYSE: CIVI) is multi-basin exploration and production company and is Colorado’s first carbon-neutral oil and gas producer. The Company is conducting a national search for an experienced, motivated individual with excellent academic and professional credentials to fill the position of Litigation Counsel.</p> <p> The position will be responsible for providing comprehensive litigation-centered legal services to the Company’s Rockies and Permian business units. The position will report to Civitas’s Associate General Counsel and will be based in a Civitas office location of the candidate’s choosing in Denver (CO), the Woodlands (TX), or Midland (TX).</p> <p><b> Primary Job Responsibilities</b>:</p> <ul> <li> Oversee and manage the Company’s complex litigation, mediation, and arbitration matters.</li> <li> Facilitate effective resolutions to Company disputes.</li> <li> Summarize, report, and communicate effectively to business units other stakeholders on the status of pending litigation.</li> <li> Effectively partner with and manage outside counsel.</li> <li> Coordinate discovery, including preparing interviews, arranging depositions, assisting with interrogatories, and collecting document production.</li> <li> Refine and maintain corporate policies on document management and retention.</li> <li> Undertake and manage incident and internal investigations.</li> <li> Support the Company’s business units with pre-litigation writing skills, and advise and issue-spot on litigation related business risk.</li> </ul> <p><b> Knowledge/Skills/Competencies</b></p> <ul> <li> Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate complex disputes and issues.</li> <li> Ability to manage a high volume of complex and varied claims and disputes.</li> <li> Proficiency with electronic discovery.</li> <li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li> Succeeds working in a team environment and partnering with internal clients, other in-house counsel, and outside counsel.</li> <li> Strong ethical compass and a commitment to compliance with laws and regulations.</li> </ul> <p><b> Education &amp; Experience</b>:</p> <ul> <li> J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar license such to comply with applicable jurisdiction’s in-house practice rules (Texas, New Mexico, and/or Colorado preferred).</li> <li> 5+ years of law practice at premier firm with substantial experience in high-stakes, complex litigation.</li> <li> Oil and Gas experience preferred.</li> </ul> <p><b> Travel Requirements</b>:</p> <ul> <li> Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.</li> <li> Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.</li> <li> Occasional travel may be required to the Civitas corporate offices, along with field locations and work sites.</li> </ul> <p><b> Benefits:</b></p> <ul> <li> Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance. <ul> <li> Dental and Vision insurance premiums are at no cost to employees.</li> </ul></li> <li> Generous 401(k) Retirement Plan with a 6% company match. 100% vest of employer contributions after the first month of employment.</li> <li> Company paid Life &amp; AD&amp;D insurance.</li> <li> Voluntary Life, AD&amp;D, Accident, and Critical Illness plans.</li> <li> Vacation, sick, volunteer, and holiday pay.</li> <li> Health Saving Accounts (with an employer contribution) and Flexible Spending Accounts.</li> <li> Fitness and tuition reimbursements.</li> <li> Opportunity for Short Term and Long-Term Incentives.</li> <li> Company paid short-term and long-term disability programs.</li> <li> Paid parental leave.</li> <li> Volunteer opportunities through The Civitas Community Foundation.</li> <li> Employee assistance program.</li> <li> Your choice of paid parking or an RTD EcoPass for Denver-based employees.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><br> Please note that the following job posting does not guarantee or promise specific benefits offerings to potential employees.
