For more information, visit rate.com. <br> <br> What’s the Role? <br> <br> Litigation Counsel - Guaranteed Rate is building a winning team to reinvent the mortgage experience through innovation, technology and a relentless focus on providing industry-leading mortgage products and superlative customer service. You will embrace and support these efforts by pursuing and defending claims through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation. The ideal candidate will have commercial litigation experience. Preferably, the candidate will experience litigating arbitration matters. Pay range $140,00- $160,000 annual salary + bonus. <br> <br> <b>Responsibilities:</b> <br> Serve as first or second chair in arbitrations handled in-house by the company. <br> <br> Manage discovery process, draft pleadings and motions, prepare witnesses for trial, lead factual and legal investigation. <br> <br> Draft demand letters. <br> <br> Negotiate and resolve pre-litigation disputes. <br> <br> Handle other legal matters as assigned by management. <br> <br> <b>Qualifications:</b> <br> At least 4 years of commercial litigation experience. <br> <br> Experience handling arbitrations will be a significant advantage. <br> <br> Prior financial services experience, especially in mortgage and experience litigating commission agreements, will also be a significant advantage. <br> <br> Positive, team-first attitude. <br> <br> Can-do, “roll up your sleeves” mindset. <br> <br> Sound business judgment and ability to strike right balance between legal risks and business goals. <br> <br> Willingness to learn the business and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders. <br> <br> Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. <br> <br> Clear, concise and persuasive oral and written communication skills. <br> <br> Ability to work constructively, collaboratively and cross functionally. <br> <br> Minimum Requirements <br> <br> J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school. <br> <br> Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
