This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a market leading firm with a history of consistent financial strength and innovation.</p> <p></p> <p><b><br> Responsibilities</b>:</p> <p> The Associate General Counsel will:</p> <ul> <li> Act as a trusted advisor to multiple insurance business units, providing legal counsel regarding insurance and financial product design and innovation, underwriting, reinsurance, reserving and capital matters, service issues, and regulatory compliance.<br> </li> <li> Provide legal support to our Office of Governmental Affairs in response to proposed changes in federal and state law and regulation affecting our insurance businesses.<br> </li> <li> Assist with special projects as the need arises. Such projects may include, for example, the negotiation of strategic relationships with third parties or the review and analysis of strategically important regulatory and compliance developments.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><br> The Associate General Counsel must gather facts from multiple sources and interact frequently with client areas, keeping them and the company’s leadership advised of significant developments and the status of all matters. In addition, the Associate General Counsel must:</p> <ul> <li> Exhibit superb writing and communication skills<br> </li> <li> Collaborate productively with colleagues in our legal and compliance functions<br> </li> <li> Provide creative, proactive and solution-oriented advice to protect against risk while advancing the enterprise’s objectives<br> </li> <li> Interact with regulators and occasionally engage and manage outside counsel</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b><br> Location</b>: New York, New York (51 Madison Ave)</p> <p></p> <p><b><br> Qualifications</b>:</p> <ul> <li> JD and Admission to the New York Bar</li> <li> Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a law firm or corporate law department</li> <li> Strong client facing skills</li> <li> Subject matter knowledge and experience with insurance regulation, insurance product design, legal writing and contract drafting, and insurance company compliance matters.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b><br> Salary range:</b> $157,500-$237,500</p> <p><b> Overtime eligible:</b> Exempt</p> <p><b> Discretionary bonus eligible:</b> Yes</p> <p><b> Sales bonus eligible:</b> No</p> <p></p> <p><br> Click here to learn more about our benefits.
